Antigua and Barbuda: Your Passport is Just the Beginning

April 20, 2020

I am pleased to advise that last month, my client’s Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment application was approved and last week, we were notified of two other approvals. The two applications were submitted in January 2020. My clients are so excited. The fact that the globe is on a temporary pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic does not mean we have to fold our hands and be idle. Government agencies and organizations continue to work; businesses continue to operate on a low scale and life is picking up. The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Unit continues to receive and accept applications.

Our clients understand the importance of moving forward and these clients are taking advantage of this rare opportunity to move forward with their applications. The economy will bounce back, travel restrictions will be lifted, and life will go on.

The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship offers visa free travel to 165 jurisdictions around the world. Located in the Eastern Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth country with some 365 beaches of clean turquoise waters, the lush tropical islands is an inviting paradise and considered one of the most beautiful places in the world. Some benefits of the program includes:

  1. Visa free travel to 165 countries including the UK, Europe, Hong Kong and much more.
  2. Economically, legally and socially stable country.
  3. Part of the British Common wealth with Parliamentary system of Government.
  4. Dual citizenship is allowed.
  5. No tax on worldwide income, no estate tax, no death tax, no inheritance or capital gains tax.
  6. No restriction on the repatriation of profits and capital.
  7. Offshore bank accounts, investments, and companies give unique opportunities for business and tax planning.
  8. Antigua is the travel hub of the region with direct flights to London, New York, Miami, Toronto and Montreal,
  9. Antigua is home to most technological advanced hospital in the Caribbean with two American Medical Universities.
  10. Antigua is an independent country and one of the most sought after destinations in the Caribbean.

There are three ways of acquiring citizenship:

  1. By making a non-refundable contribution to the National Development Fund. This is done after the application is approved.
  2. By investing in real estate in the country.
  3. By establishing a business.

From experience, most of my clients opt for the contribution to the National Development Fund, as this is the most convenient way but if you prefer “four walls, brick and mortar”, you may choose the real estate option. Both options are great, it all depends on how much you are willing to spend.

On the global scale, Antigua and Barbuda is an active member of various international organizations such as: the United Nations, the British Commonwealth, the Caribbean Community (Caricom), the Organization of American States (OAS), World Trade Organization, United Nations among many other international organizations.

As a result of the pandemic, the Citizenship by Investment Unit is showing flexibility on the required documentation and application process. Why not take advantage of this rare opportunity, you have nothing to loose. On a personal note, please accept my sincere wishes to you and your loved ones that you remain safe and healthy always.

We continue to be open for business and if you are a business executive, senior management staff, entrepreneur and would like us to proceed with your application, please reach out to us.
